We offer NHS Orthodontic treatment to patients under 18 years of age who have sufficient need for treatment as set out in the Index Orthodontic Treatment Need (IOTN). We will advise whether you qualify for NHS treatment under these guidelines at the initial consultation.
The Orthodontic appliances we use depends on the position of your teeth and jaws (malocclusion)
Fixed metal braces ( train tracks ) are most commonly used. We also use growth modifying ( functional ) and removable appliances.
If your child does not qualify for NHS treatment we can still offer a Private treatment plan
For more detailed information about braces click on further information section.
Once the active phase of your treatment has been finished and braces removed, it will be necessary to wear a retainer. Retainers are designed to keep your teeth straight and can either be removable or fixed to the teeth. Now that your teeth are straight if you do not wear your retainer your teeth are likely to drift towards their original positions.
